What is the purpose of this survey?
By completing this survey, you will be helping the Missing People charity to learn more about local responses to missing children, young people, and adults. We are interested in your personal experience as a professional to help us find out about good practice and common challenges so that we can be better informed when supporting agencies to tackle missing and harm across the country.
Who is this survey for?
This survey is for professionals who work with missing children, young people, or adults. If you work in missing and are from the police, a local authority, education, the NHS, or the third sector, this survey is for you. How effectively is your local area responding to missing?
What will be asked in the survey?
Questions in the survey are related to the support needed by individuals who go missing, the involvement of different agencies in responding to missing, and the support provided to missing adults compared to missing children.
It will take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. The closing date for this survey is 23rd May 2025.
What will happen with the information provided?
Any information you provide will help us build a clearer picture of the success and challenges in the response to missing persons across the country.
Your responses to this survey will be completely anonymous and we will not ask for any personal information which could potentially make you identifiable. The only information we will ask for is the type of organisation you work for, and in which local authority. This will enable us to provide you with feedback on how well your local area is responding to missing.
Information provided in the survey will be used by Missing People for both external and internal purposes. Any use of direct quotes will be fully anonymised, such as any names of people or places mentioned in participant responses, to ensure that participant identity remains anonymous.
We will publish a report of our findings online later in 2025. To find out more, please follow us on LinkedIn by searching for 'Missing Specialists,' where this will be shared.
By completing this survey, you can also have a free call from our specialist team to explore how we could help you and your team respond to any gaps and tackle any challenges within your organisation’s response to missing persons. If you would like a call please leave your e-mail address at the end of this survey and we will arrange this with you.
