Warrington Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)
A pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA) presents a picture of local community pharmacies and pharmaceutical services. It includes a review of services currently provided, and assesses if, and how, these could be utilised further to support the health and wellbeing of the local population. The PNA is used by Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board when they are reviewing any applications for new pharmacy provision or approving any changes to existing contracts.
The
NHS Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services Regulations (2013) state that the PNA must be refreshed every three years. Warrington Borough Council public health team and partners, on behalf of Warrington Health & Wellbeing Board, have produced a draft update of the pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA) for 2025-2028. Regulations include the requirement that a formal 60 day public consultation on a draft version of the PNA is undertaken prior to publishing the final document. The draft PNA can be found on the
consultation pages of the council's website. We would like you to share your views and comments on the draft PNA by completing this survey.
To ask for a paper copy of the PNA or consultation form, require the PNA or form in another language or format including large print, Braille, audio or British Sign Language, please contact our Public Health Knowledge & Intelligence Team at PHKI@warrington.gov.uk or call on 01925 442950.
