NWIFCA review- Survey

1. Introduction

This survey is being carried out by RPA Ltd (www.rpaltd.co.uk) as part of the review of policies, procedures and governance of the NWIFCA.

The NWIFCA vision is “to lead, champion and manage a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries by successfully securing the right balance between social, environmental and economic benefits to ensure healthy seas, sustainable fisheries and a viable industry”. This review aims to report on the existing policies, procedures and governance of the Authority.  The objectives of the review, as agreed by the members of the Authority, is to ensure these policies, procedures and governance are appropriate for current and future challenges.

Guided by The Nolan Principles of public life and the NWIFCA code of conduct in respect of officers and members, the review will explore: governance (strategy, culture, relations, performance, compliance and accountability, officers, members of the authority, stakeholders, government and government agencies, funding partners, the eight councils, Association of IFCAs); and procedures (management designed to influence and determine all major decisions, actions and activities that take place within the boundaries set by them).

The information you provide will shape the interview questions and will be used to help understand the management process and governance as well as make recommendations for improvement.

Participation in this study is voluntary.  All information you provide will be reported anonymously.
