Thank you for taking the time to respond to this survey, which should take 5 minutes to complete. You can save your answers and return to the survey at another time.

The Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales acts independently of the Ministry of Justice, the Home Office, the police, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and the courts to champion the rights of victims and make sure they are treated fairly and correctly by the criminal justice system.

It is vitally important that we hear from victims of road traffic collisions about their experiences of the criminal justice system and support services. This is your chance to share your views. By sharing your views, the Office of the Victims' Commissioner can try to ensure future victims receive the support and justice outcomes they need. We would like to hear from anyone who has been:

  • A victim of a road traffic collision in England and Wales.
  • A close relative of a victim of a road traffic collision in England and Wales.

The survey will ask some questions about you and the road traffic collision. The survey is anonymous but at the end we ask if you give permission for us to potentially contact you via email to arrange a follow-up interview to talk about your experiences.  We are looking to speak to a small number of people in more depth about their experiences. We will analyse the information you provide in this interview and publish a report from it, which will add to the research knowledge on road traffic collision victims’ experiences of the criminal justice system.

Please see this Privacy Policy which explains how the Office of the Victims’ Commissioner collects, uses and shares personal information.

We are keen to hear from everyone who wants to complete this survey. If you support someone who has been a victim who would like to respond but can't do so because of language, lack of internet access or other barriers, please feel free to fill in the survey with them. At the end of the survey, we ask a question about these barriers. Your answers will help us improve future surveys. Alternatively, you can contact us at research@victimscommissioner.org.uk if you would like to request the survey in a different format.
