Over the last few years we have been working with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to develop a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) which has used the National Propensity to Cycle Tool to identify the key routes that have the ability to attract the most new people to cycling.

Based on this and to get the city off to a good start with helping people who are willing and able to start travelling actively for local journeys we are installing both new pop-up cycle lanes and making the existing lanes better along 7 key routes into the city.

We are working within the space that already exists on the roads to make safe and separate space for people on cycles where we can, we will also keep the on-street parking and the traffic lanes that are there already.

About this survey

The following questions are to collect your views and level of support for the proposed changes and what you think about your local streets and how the existing layout supports or dissuades everyone from walking or cycling. And an opportunity to provide feedback on our proposals for the next 4 routes.

How will my consultation response be used?

We will use your comments and feedback to shape how we proceed in the coming months and years with regards to enabling people who are willing and able to walk and cycle for those local journeys to work, school and the shops.

We will not be collecting any personal or identifiable information as part of this survey and you will be able to submit your response until the closing date of 24th March 2021.

The results of the survey will be shared with elected members and the public and fed back to the Department for Transport. If you have any questions about this survey please contact us on cyclingwalking@liverpool.gov.uk
