What is this survey for and why are we asking about sexual health?
As part of our duty to ensure that we commission (plan, buy and monitor) services that meet the ongoing needs of our population, the Local Authorities and the Clinical Commissioning Group in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire need to plan what sexual health services should look like in the future. We are asking as many people as possible to give us their opinions by completing this survey because we need to know what people like about the sexual health services we currently have in place and what we might need to change to make them better for everyone.
We currently provide free and confidential sexual health services across Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire that include all types of contraception, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI), abortion care and HIV prevention. These services are available from a GP, pharmacy or a specialist NHS clinic.
There are other types of sexual health services, e.g. psychosexual counselling, support after sexual assault, and treatment for people living with HIV, but they are not included in this survey. This is because other organisations are responsible for these services and have asked about them in other surveys.
How to answer the survey
We want to hear from you if you live in either Bristol, North Somerset, or South Gloucestershire, even if you haven’t used sexual health services yourself.
If you have used a sexual health service in BNSSG in the last 5 years (since 2017), please answer the questions based on the sexual health service you used most recently.
The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete.
This survey is completely anonymous.
We won’t ask you for your name and we won’t know who has filled it in when we look at the results. You are welcome to skip any questions, but please click “complete” at the end.
At the end of the survey, if you feel comfortable, we are asking you to provide us with some anonymous details about your background. These answers will help us make sure that we are planning sexual health services with the needs of everyone in mind and that no-one is discriminated against unlawfully. We have also provided some links to more information and support which you may find helpful.
