Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

1. Introduction

Thank you for completing this survey about speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

Your experience, feeling and ideas will make a difference to how Oldham services are designed.

This survey is hosted by Oldham Parent Carer Forum, which is supported by POINT.  It's an anonymous survey and we will not share any information that could identify you.  Oldham Parent Carer Forum is working with partners from the Council, Northern Care Alliance and Schools and Nurseries in Oldham.  This survey is about children and young people aged between 0-25 and takes around 10 minutes to complete.

SLCN describes the different ways we share meaning with each other.  For example, it can be a baby babbling, a toddler starting to form words or point, or it might be about overcoming medical needs that make it harder to talk.

If you have ever been concerned about your child/young person's speech or communication, then it's important you answer this survey to help us to improve services.

Service improvements will be introduced starting in September 2022
