RECOVERY GRANT
Supported by Art Fund, Arts Council England, Museum Development England and South East Museum Development

Recovery Grants aims to help museums re-build their offer to audiences and strengthen organisationally in response to the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

This grant was created in partnership with Art Fund, MDUK, and Arts Council England, and is administered by South East Museum Development.  We aim to support 10 museums through this final round of this scheme ensuring a fair geographical spread over the south east region.

Museums can apply for grants of up to £3000 to fund a range of activity that re-engages audiences, creates programmes, adapts  services, or addresses the longer-term sustainability of the museum.

Deadline:  Wednesday  1 December 2021 (5pm).  We will announce the outcome of the applications by 17 December 2021.

The grant is open to museums that are Accredited, or formally working towards Accreditation located in Surrey, East & West
Sussex, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, and Kent/Medway.

We will accept applications from a cluster of organisations, provided the lead organisation meets the eligibility criteria.  The maximum ask is per application (not per organisation).

We cannot accept applications from non-accredited museums, national museums, or national portfolio organisations (NPOs) unless they are part of a cluster or partnership application.

We can accept applications from organisations that have received Culture Recovery Funds (CRF) or Emergency Relief Funds (ERF) from Arts Council England or National Lottery Heritage Fund in 2020-21.  However, if the fund is oversubscribed, we will prioritise museums that have not received ERF or CRF support.

We can accept applications from organisations that have received a Recovery Grant from us in a previous round, provided the activity proposed is new or different.

Speak with your local Museum Development Officer and read the grant audience (available on the South East Museum Development website) before completing your application.

ANNUAL MUSEUM SURVEY
Please be aware that it is a condition of our funding agreement that grant recipients participate in the next Annual Museum Survey (registration in July ; survey deadline in September 2022).  Failure to do so may render the museum temporarily ineligible for our grants until April 2023.
