This project enhances Active Travel infrastructure by upgrading 2 km of National Cycle Network Route 7 (NCN7), creating a segregated cycle route from the Riverside Museum to Dilwara Avenue / Smith Street.

It includes signalised junctions for improved safety and traffic flow, shared surfaces (minimum 3.5m wide) for walking, wheeling, and cycling, step-free crossings for accessibility, and traffic calming measures. The route connects with the Thornwood Roundabout, where community-led improvements support safer, more inclusive travel. These works also support new Clyde-fronting developments and align with Glasgow’s Clyde Corridor Strategic Development Framework.

This project represents a significant step forward in delivering safe, inclusive, and sustainable travel options for Glasgow’s communities—connecting people, places, and opportunities along the Clyde corridor.
