Why are we doing this?
The health and social care system is changing a lot. Healthwatch England is set to no longer exist from 2027 and the responsibilities of local Healthwatch will be absorbed by the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and Local Authorities.
Your Voice in Health and Social Care (YVHSC) has a long history of providing Healthwatch services across London supporting residents and communities to have their voices heard and to make health and care services better.
Although there will be change, this is a chance for us to build something new together. We want to create a better way of working with local communities to make sure everyone can share their ideas and experiences, especially those who are often left out.
How we work now
Our current model was built with our Local Advisory Committees, who connect us to the community. It includes:
Collecting people’s experiences with health and care services
Visiting places like hospitals or care homes (Enter and View visits)
Doing research projects
Helping people find information and services
Writing a yearly report on our impact
This model worked well, but we want to do more to support with any upcoming changes.
We’re asking local providers, staff members, partners, and community groups to help shape the future of community engagement in health and social care. Your feedback will help create a better, more inclusive way of working together.
Why fill in the survey?
Co-production and co-design help make services more effective, fair, and relevant because they are shaped by the people who use and deliver them. When we work together from the start, we build better outcomes for everyone.
Your feedback will help co-design a new model that works for everyone, supports real change, and ensures community voices remain central to health and care decision-making.
