Last winter, 60 community groups were successful in receiving awards, with thousands of Inverclyde residents benefitting from a range of warm spaces and activities provided, whether it be individuals seeking a warm space to share a story over a cup of tea, the elderly socialising during a warm meal at a hub or families joining the community for social activities.  A wide range of activities were on offer and many community groups are keen to build on the success of events previously held.

This year, the initiative will be launched with a Community Celebration and Information Workshop on Friday 10 October from 10am–12pm at Port Glasgow Community Hub (King George Building). The event will provide an opportunity for community organisations to hear about funding available for Winter 2025, share learning and experiences from previous Warm Hand of Friendship projects and work together to Explore how best to engage and how to communicate activities more widely so that everyone who could benefit knows what is happening.

Tea, coffee, and snacks will be provided and all are welcome. Previous applicants, community groups, and anyone with an interest in supporting their community are encouraged to attend.
