Our new Waste and Resource Strategy aims to build on our achievements from the previous Waste Plan 2015-2025 by looking to further reduce waste, increase reuse and repair of items and recycle more. This will help us to tackle several challenges and ensure our waste and recycling services continue to be effective and efficient. These challenges include:
- Meeting the recycling target set by the Welsh Government
- Reducing our carbon emissions by 2030
- Supporting cost efficiency within the council
- Aligning with Wales’s national waste strategies
- Preparing our services for upcoming waste reforms and legislation.

We are keen to receive feedback on our proposed actions and responses to this consultation will be used to help finalise our Waste and Resource Strategy.
