Newark and Sherwood District Council has joined the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities, a national programme delivered with the Centre for Ageing Better, focused on making places better to grow older in.
This means the district is working alongside other areas to improve local environments, so people can stay healthy, active and independent as they age. The Council values its older residents and wants to help everyone stay connected, enjoy life and access the support they need.
To do this, we need to understand what it’s like to age in our district—what works well and what could be better. Your feedback will help shape an action plan to make Newark and Sherwood a great place to grow older.
We would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete this survey and share your experiences, including the things you enjoy, places you go, and any challenges you face.
We are also launching an Older Persons Forum later this year. By joining, you can:
- Share your experiences
- Help us understand what ageing in the district is like
- Shape future plans and improvements
To join, email wellbeing@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk or call 01636 650 000 and ask for the Health Improvement Team.
This survey will close on 30 September 2026.
