Overview
We are proposing to carry out some highway improvements works on Bathwells Road and Angers Road in Totterdown.
Over the years residents have raised concerns regarding local roads such as Bathwells Road and Angers Road being used as a cut-through from the A4 Bath Road to A37 Wells Road.
Proposals for highway improvements
Below are the three elements of the highway improvements that we are proposing:
- At Angers Road we are proposing to adjust the existing no entry/contraflow cycling arrangement. (Plan A)
- We are also incorporating a build out in the footway at the junction of A37 Wells Rd / Bathwells Rd to improve road safety. (Plan B)
- At Bathwells Rd we are proposing a one way, from the A37 Wells Rd towards the Bathwells Road junction with Stanley Hill / Goolden Street / Summer Hill. (Plan C)
- The proposed one way is because of suggestions from residents that the temporary road closure that has been in place over the last 18 months at Bathwells Rd / Goolden Street has been beneficial in reducing through traffic.
