We would like to reform the bus registration system, which has not changed in principle since it was established over 30 years ago. The system does not reflect changes in the organisation of the bus market, in particular the role of Local Transport Authorities. It is poorly aligned with modern practice on data handling and takes no account of the significant recent progress on bus open data.
We are running a DfT survey to find out what you think about the current bus service registration system and we want you to influence how we can reform the current process following the implementation of the Bus Open Data Service and how it can support the delivery of the National Bus Strategy.
