Accessing ADHD medication under Shared Care agreements & GP prescription

1. Accessing ADHD medication under Shared Care agreements & GP prescription

0%

Background to the survey

In the UK, ADHD is usually assessed by a specialist psychiatrist or nurse at a specialist service. Following diagnosis, patients are sometimes prescribed medication to help manage their symptoms. The prescription for this medication and any monitoring associated with this is often managed through a Shared Care agreement between the specialist and the patient's GP, or in some cases solely by their GP.

Many GP surgeries have recently stopped offering ADHD prescriptions and monitoring for patients diagnosed through specialist ADHD services - You can learn more about this change here. We want to know about how this change is affecting people in Essex.

Eligibility

We are interested in hearing from anyone in Essex who takes medication for ADHD or is attempting to access medication for ADHD, or who cares for a child or someone else who does and can respond to this survey on their behalf.

If this change affects you, you may have received a letter telling you that you will no longer be able to access prescriptions and monitoring for ADHD medication through your GP, and will have to return to the specialist who assessed you for support. We are still interested in hearing your experience even if you have not heard about this change from your GP.

If you are not currently using or trying to access ADHD medication, this survey may not be relevant to you. However, we may run future surveys relating to other aspects of people's experiences with ADHD in the future. If you would like to be contacted about taking part in future work relating to ADHD, please leave your details here.

What the survey involves

This survey will take approximately 5-8 mins to complete. You will be asked questions about your experience with accessing ADHD medication, focusing on issues accessing medication as a result of your GP stopping prescribing ADHD medication.
