Hilgay Parish Council Community Governance Review (CGR) - Second Consultation
Last year the Borough Council received a Community Governance Petition from electors of Ten Mile Bank ward of Hilgay Parish Council. The petition requested that Hilgay Parish Council and its existing wards (Hilgay) and (Ten Mile Bank), separate into two parishes with their own respective Councils.
The Borough Council resolved to conduct a Community Governance Review.
An initial consultation took place to determine the strength of feeling and whether there was an appetite to form a new Ten Mile Bank Parish Council.
A summary of the responses can be viewed on our website.
These responses were considered by the Borough Council at a meeting held on 27th November 2025. At this meeting the Council agreed to conduct a second consultation, to ask for views about how the new arrangements would work, including Parish Council boundaries, number of Councillors, Parish Council precepts and other financial issues, including assets.
