We would like to invite you to take part in a survey about ‘The use and implementation of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in integrated care settings: the ICS-PRO study’
Taking part in this survey is voluntary. Before you decide, we would like to explain why we are doing this survey and what it means to take part. Please take time to read the information below. Further information is available in the Participant Information Sheet v3.0 dated 14.12.2034 at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1v1Z4FelQsQmhY7SeFKh4O9wh27wPTJKwKuJC_QgppyE/edit?usp=sharing
This study is being led by Dr Nicola Anderson and Professor Melanie Calvert from the Centre for Patient Reported Outcomes Research at the University of Birmingham. We are funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaborative West Midlands. The University of Birmingham is sponsoring this study https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/cpror/index.aspx Who are we?
Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are patients' or an individuals’ self-reports about how they feel, function, and live their lives which can include questions on symptoms, functional, psychosocial status and quality of life, as well as various aspects of wellbeing. This information is collected by completion of questionnaires that have been tested and proven to be reliable and valid for their intended use. These questionnaires are called Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) . PROMs can be used as tools to amplify the individual’s voice in research and in the delivery of person-centred care. PROMs are increasingly collected digitally. PROM data can be used alongside patient-reported experience measures (PREMs), which are designed to gather information directly from an individual about their experience of care and the care environment such as information sharing , the level of trust in staff, waiting times and care setting hygiene.
Integrated care includes healthcare that is planned and delivered to individuals in a way that helps them achieve their health goals. It focuses on the person's needs and can involve different organizations like hospitals, community groups, and social care providers.
The purpose of this research survey is to explore how these self-report questionnaires (PROMs and PREMs) are or might be used in integrated care settings and will take you approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
After you fill in the survey, you will be invited to take part in an optional prize draw with a prize of a £50 shopping voucher.
The survey contains questions about your background and your experiences and views on the use of PROMs/PREMs in integrated care settings. We ask questions about your background because it helps us understand who is taking part in our research.
