Welcome to this survey for manufacturers of IoT products.
This work has been commissioned by the Department for Digital Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS) with the aim of evaluating the economic impact of regulating security of the Internet of Things (IoT). This evidence will be used by DCMS to explore different options for regulating IoT security.
For our purposes, the consumer IoT market consists of:
- Connected children’s toys and baby monitors,
- Connected safety-relevant products such as smoke detectors and door locks,
- Smart cameras, TVs and speakers,
- Wearable health trackers,
- Connected home automation and alarm systems,
- Connected appliances (e.g. washing machines, fridges),
- Smart home assistants.
Evidence to inform this work will be collected through this survey, which is being managed by RSM Consulting LLP, who have been appointed by DCMS to undertake this activity.
The information will be supplied to DCMS in the form of a database which will not identify individuals or companies within them. Therefore, all information given in the survey will be anonymous. However, RSM Consulting LLP would like to take contact details for you in the event that we wish to verify your survey responses. These details will be retained by RSM Consulting LLP, used only for the purpose for contacting you to discuss your survey responses, will not be passed on to any third party, and will be deleted upon completion of our research.
Please complete the survey by Monday 25th March 2019.
