'Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an approach using the many day-to-day interactions that organisations and individuals have with patients, service users and the public to support them in making positive changes.
This may involve initiating a very brief intervention/conversation (that takes place in less than two minutes) with a person perhaps as part of a routine appointment or consultation; and where appropriate, offering advice, providing encouragement and support for change or signposting and referring them to local services and sources of further information.
Wirral Partners are working together to make better use of the MECC approach, understanding what matters most to people and then support them to access the right services and information when they need it.
To do this well, staff and services need the right skills, resources and confidence to open up these conversations and we want your feedback to help us get this right.
We are inviting colleagues to answer just a few questions to inform how we can make MECC work for you and the individuals you care for.
