IOP Scotland 28Feb Careers

IOP Scotland CLPL: Physics-based careers and subject-specific advice
28 February 2024, 7.30pm-8.30pm

Suitable for teachers of physics, including physics specialists, other science specialists teaching physics, and student teachers.

Skills shortages in science and engineering industries are widely reported as is the fact that young people and their parents and careers are frequently unaware of the wide range of opportunities available. The demand for young people with physics knowledge and skills is predicted to increase if Scotland is to meet its net-zero targets and key industrial sectors such as energy, photonics, quantum technology, medical physics, space, robotics and financial technologies are to develop. During this event information about a wide range of physics-based careers from apprenticeships to degree level will be provided as well as sources of further information.
