NHS Pathway to Diagnosis and Treatment for Sleep Apnoea and UARS

Thank you for agreeing to a few minutes of your time to help Dr Ari Manuel, one of our charity's medical advisors.  He's requested that those of us diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea, UARS or other form of Sleep Disordered Breathing, kindly fill in this anonymous survey.  This is to help him and his team before they approach NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence)  in an effort to improve access to NHS sleep services for diagnosis and treatment.

How long and how many visits did it take for you to be referred by your GP to a sleep clinic? *

From the date your GP referred you to a sleep clinic, how long did you wait until your first appointment came through? *

After your appointment at the sleep clinic, how long did you wait to have a sleep study? *

Was your sleep study in hospital or at home? *

What type of sleep study did you have from the following options? *

If you were diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea or any other Sleep Disordered Breathing condition which required a CPAP, BiPAP or Non-invasive Ventilator, how long did you have to wait to be issued with the machine?

If you were diagnosed with or suspected to have UARS (Upper Airways Resistance Syndrome) instead of Sleep Apnoea, what form of treatment were you offered?

If you tried to get diagnosed by the NHS without success and had to resort to getting diagnosed privately, please tell us why you had to take the private route?

Finally, please tell us which sleep clinic you were referred to and/or where in the UK you live (your full address is not required for anonymity).
