What is this questionnaire?
This questionnaire is for anyone who lives, works, or studies in Stoke-on-Trent. It is part of a major listening exercise commissioned by the One Stoke-on-Trent Board. By hearing from thousands of people across the city, the aim is to understand how people experience life in Stoke-on-Trent today, and what more can be done to make it a place where everyone feels welcome, heard, and able to thrive. The findings will help shape a new Community Cohesion Strategy for the city.
Who is involved?
One Stoke-on-Trent brings together leaders from across the city, including public services, businesses, voluntary organisations, education, and faith communities, to promote a shared vision for a stronger, fairer, and more inclusive Stoke-on-Trent. This engagement has been commissioned by the Board and is being delivered independently by Protection Approaches, a UK charity specialising in inclusion, cohesion, and community resilience.
What’s the questionnaire like?
The questionnaire is simple and flexible, and you can share as much or as little as you like. Depending on how detailed your answers are, it can take as little as 5 minutes to complete. You will be asked to share your thoughts on three main questions:
- What do you like about Stoke-on-Trent?
- What concerns you about life in Stoke-on-Trent?
- What kind of future do you want for Stoke-on-Trent?
The deadline to submit the completed questionnaire is 11.59pm on Sunday 21st September.
What happens to what you tell us?
The questionnaire is anonymous. We will ask for some demographic information, such as where you live, your gender, age, and ethnicity, but your responses will not be identifiable. Your responses may be shared with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and other members of the One Stoke-on-Trent Board.
A report summarising the findings from this questionnaire, along with wider conversations taking place across the city, will be produced for the Board. These insights will directly inform the development of the new Community Cohesion Strategy.
Why should I take part?
Your voice matters. By taking part, you’ll help shape the future of Stoke-on-Trent, contributing to a strategy that works for everyone and helps ensure people feel welcome, heard, and supported to thrive.
If you would like to take part but face any barriers, such as accessibility needs, please get in touch with us. We’ll do our best to support you to participate in different ways.
