The College of Policing conducts widespread surveys of officers and staff across the service and external partners. The College recognises that surveys are an essential method of understanding College performance and ensuring resources are best allocated to activities in the public interest.
This privacy notice aims to give you information on how the College of Policing collects data when you participate in our surveys. This privacy notice supplements other notices and is not intended to override them.
Whilst responses to this survey are not intended to identify individuals and the data collected is not linked to your email address in any way, responses may still contain information that could make participants identifiable. Also, there is an option to include an email address in relation to future research; where this is provided, it is personal data, which means it can be used to identify individuals.
All college surveys are voluntary.
The lawful basis for processing your information is for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in us.
We will hold your information for 12 months. After this period your information will be securely disposed of. All information is held securely on our College network.
If responses are published, all research findings will be reported anonymously as part of a combined set of responses. However, from time to time and where there is a substantial public interest to do so, anonymised statistical information may include categories of low numbers. Anonymised research findings may be shared with the Home Office and individuals directly involved with improving performance in Home Office police forces.
The College takes its data protection responsibilities very seriously. You have certain rights under data protection legislation regarding your personal information. For more information about your rights and how to contact our Data Protection team, please see our full privacy notice.
