Introduction

Welcome to the consultation for the review of the Protection Fire Standard

The Protection Fire Standard was published back in September 2021. Since its publication, the Fire Standards Board have developed a total of nineteen Fire Standards. The review of this standard was completed by a group of practitioners from across Fire and Rescue Services within England, and supported by Dave Russel, Chief Fire Officer and NFCC Protection Committee Chair, and Justin Sharp, NFCC Interim Head of Protection. The Fire Standards Board have committed to the regular review of published Fire Standards to ensure that they remain appropriate for the benefit of the sector.

This consultation seeks to gather views about the proposed amendments to Protection Fire Standard as well as the impact on those organisations who will be expected to align to them. Some questions may only be relevant if you work for a fire and rescue service within England.

There is a save and continue function that can be used throughout the consultation so that you can return to your response later and pick up where you left off.  If you want to review the questions in advance of completion, you can view this pdf version: PFS Consultation Questions
