We want to make sure wheelchair services work well for everyone.

Since 2019, Ross Care has provided wheelchair services for people in Calderdale and Kirklees. This is also known as the Posture and Mobility Service.

Ross Care provide clinical assessments, posture and mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, repair and maintenance.

Now we, NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, want to know what is working well and what could be better.

NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is responsible for planning and buying NHS health services for the people of West Yorkshire including those living in Calderdale and Kirklees.  We have a contract with Ross Care to provide your wheelchair service.

We have already spoken to health and care professionals who make referrals to Ross Care. Now we want to hear from you.

We are working with Disability Partnership Calderdale, PCAN, Healthwatch Kirklees, Healthwatch Calderdale and Ross Care who have helped us design a survey and events where people can give their views.

How can I share my views?

Complete a survey
Please fill in this survey if you use the wheelchair service provided by Ross Care in Calderdale or Kirklees, or care for someone who does. Your answers will help us:

•    Understand what is good and where changes can be made.
•    Make sure the service is fair and gives good value.
•    Help people get the support they need, when they need it.

Make things better for everyone who uses a wheelchair or mobility equipment. The survey will close at 5pm on Monday 5 January 2026.

If you would prefer to complete a paper copy, need help to fill in the survey or need it in a different format (language or size) please email: wyicb-kirk.engagement@nhs.net  or call: 01484 464000.

Join an event

We are holding two online listening events in December, Monday 8 December, 1pm-3pm or Wednesday 10 December, 6pm-8pm where you can learn about the service, ask questions, and share your ideas for making things better.

If you would like to join one of these events, please register at https://wheelchair-event.eventbrite.co.uk

Invite us to your group
We are also happy to join any clubs, groups or meetings with members who are using wheelchair services provided by Ross Care in Calderdale or Kirklees, or who care for someone who does to hear your views.  If you would like to invite us, please contact wyicb-kirk.engagement@nhs.net

What happens next?
Once we have listened to you and collected your views, we will make a report outlining your ideas and the details you said were important to you. This will be published on our website.  It will only include what you have told us; and we will not identify who has said what. This information, along with what we have heard from people who work with or refer into the service, will help us manage our contract with Ross Care.

Your views are important and will help shape the future of wheelchair services. Thank you for taking part.
