Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey!
What’s involved?
We want to hear from police officers and staff – like yourself – working for a police force in England and Wales to better understand current initiatives that aim to reduce children's involvement in violence.
The survey should only take you about 10 minutes to complete.
Your participation is entirely voluntary and no one will know you have completed this survey.
Why am I being asked to take part?
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a What Works Centre aiming to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence.
Your views will help shape how policing tackles children’s violence in future. Additionally, the YEF wants to work alongside police forces – listening first, then offering practical, on-the-ground support where it will make the most difference.
Project team 1 – administering the survey
- Cordis Bright – an independent research and consultancy organisation.
- Professor Iain Brennan at University of Hull
- The College of Policing

What happens to my data?
All responses will remain anonymous. While we will ask you to indicate your police force, department/unit and rank, we will only present findings in aggregated form (e.g. by force, rank or department). We won’t combine these three factors in reporting in a way that could identify individuals.
Cordis Bright will hold the data, which will only be shared within the project team. This excludes The College of Policing, who are advising only and will only see aggregated findings.
Findings will be used to inform improvements to policing policy and practice. They may be included in future research (e.g. journal articles, presentations).
