Help Shape Liverpool’s Anti-Racism Strategy

Liverpool is home to some of the UK’s longest standing and most diverse communities, including historic Black, Chinese and Jewish populations, Irish and Polish migrant communities, and newer refugee and asylum-seeking groups from Syria, Kurdistan, Ukraine, Eritrea, and elsewhere. While experiences vary across groups, racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, anti-Roma prejudice, and xenophobia continue to affect many. Racism is not always overt — it can show up as silence, neglect, under-representation, or unequal opportunity.

Liverpool City Council is committed to becoming an actively anti-racist organisation. As part of this, it is developing an internal anti racism action plan and is working with the Liverpool Strategic Partnership to create a city-wide anti-racism strategy. The council has also appointed Inclusivitii, a leading diversity and inclusion organisation, to support the development of the anti-racism strategy.

We want to hear from people who live, work, study, or spend time in Liverpool. Your opinions will help us understand what needs to change and how we can make the city better.

Further information about the anti-racism strategy can be found on our council website.

What Happens to my views

The survey is anonymous and confidential. Responses will only be viewed by the Inclusivitii Team and the Anti-Racism Action Plan Lead and the information used only to inform focus group discussions and the eventual strategy. We will feedback the findings from this survey through a summary report, in line with the publication of the wider strategy, which is due to be published Autumn 2025.

Only anonymised views will be shared. Information will be stored securely, and data kept for 12 months before it is securely destroyed.

We also ask for some optional personal information to understand different experiences that people have. This helps us make sure we hear from a wide range of people and support equal opportunities for everyone. You can skip any questions you don’t want to answer.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.
