South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood consultation 2025

About this survey

This consultation survey is in 2 parts.

In part A, we describe the type of changes we are proposing for all of the South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhoods area and ask for your views on these. We call these changes ‘area-wide measures’. We want to know if you support these types of measures in all parts of the South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhoods (SBLN) area.

The area-wide measures we propose are:

  • changes to parking
  • measures to reduce the amount and speed of traffic and improve community spaces on 4 types of streets:
    • residential streets
    • connector roads
    • high streets
    • streets with schools and local centres

We propose that some of these measures could be in place across all parts of the SBLN area in Phase 1 of the project – by the end of 2027. These include:

  • changes to parking
  • improvements to streets around schools, local centres and high streets
  • some measures for residential streets such as cycle parking and EV chargers

Measures that reduce the amount and speed of traffic would need to be phased. We propose that these measures would be introduced in 3 areas in Phase 1 of the SBLN project.

In part B, we describe and ask you about specific proposals for the 3 Phase 1 neighbourhoods:

  • Southville
  • Bedminster East
  • Totterdown

These proposals include changes to how vehicles would move through the Phase 1 neighbourhoods.

For the other 8 neighbourhoods, measures that reduce the amount and speed of traffic would require further work and additional funding from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority from 2027 onwards. We would consult you separately about this if required.

All parts of this survey are optional, and you can choose to answer questions on the parts which interest you.

You can save the survey part way through and complete it later. Please make sure you click ‘Finish survey’ by midnight on 30 October to make sure we receive your response.
