Sports Club Accelerator Fund Application 2025

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has launched a small grants fund for constituted Sports Clubs as a means to support an area of development within your club.

Applications for funding, up to a maximum of £3,000, must demonstrate how the proposal responds to the key themes as outlined in the Programme Criteria.

Before applying, please review the below document to ensure that your organisation is eligible to apply.

Funding Criteria for Sports Accelerator Fund

1. Please select which funding category your club is applying to (please select only one)

Sports Related Equipment (not clothing, merchandise or kits) or Specialist equipment e.g. disability equipment, performance analysis equipment
Club Development Officer Post which would see a minimum of 200 hours of coaching delivery in a school/club setting (must be an unsalaried employee).
Sports Event e.g. a one-off event to boost existing membership or a New Sports Programme e.g. aimed at an under-represented group
Up-skilling of coaches/volunteers through Coach Education courses and workshops (Please note it is imperative that Clubs arrange or register coaches on courses within the allotted project timeframe. If not, any funding awarded will be withdrawn).

* It is the Club’s responsibility to ensure that any Coach(es) delivering the programme have:

· Valid Coaching Qualifications

· Valid Safeguarding Certificates

· Valid Access NI Check

· Public Liability Insurance (if applicable)

· A valid First Aid Certificate.

Clubs should ensure a Risk Assessment is completed for programmes and that they have the schools/participants permission for any photographs taken.

Sports Clubs should now complete the Application Form. Questions 13-18 should be completed in reference to the category you have selected. Assessors will be reviewing the quality of the proposed application, looking for clearly articulated benefits and defined beneficiaries.
