In response to the Covid-19 pandemic several individuals across the student/graduate careers and employment sector became concerned that the subsequent economic downturn would result in the proliferation of exploitative opportunities marketed at students and graduates. In response, AGCAS convened a cross-sector group to discuss how sector organisations could work together to prevent this from happening.

The group consists of a number of university representatives, employer representatives and individuals from other sector organisations. It includes AGCAS, ASET (the Work Based Learning and Placement Association, the Institute of Student Employers (ISE), Rate My Placement, Jisc, Universities UK, and many others.

The group identified a number of key areas to address, including the creation of a work experience standard to persuade employers to offer fair and valuable opportunities to students and graduates.

This short survey is intended to collect feedback from individuals and organisations across the sector on the work experience standard and inform further changes. Any data collected through this survey will be treated in the strictest of confidence and stored securely by AGCAS. Views expressed in this survey will be anonymised and will not be attributed to specific institutions or organisations.

The deadline to complete the survey is midnight on 30 July 2021.

If you have any questions about this survey or the project/cross-sector group, please contact Elaine Boyes, AGCAS Executive Director.
