Recently Ysgol Y Dderi vacated Capel Cilgwyn in Llangybi, which has been used for storage by a number of organisations over the years. Currently the village has no venue solely dedicated as a community space and there is a desire to bring the chapel back into community usage. We wish to undertake a survey to gauge the wants and needs of the village and surrounding area with regards to the chapel's future.
Capel Cilgwyn is currently registered for use as a "sports centre" but this stipulation can be lifted going forward, which would open it up to a wider spectrum of activities. We would appreciate your input on how this venue could benefit community members of all ages and we will be holding an open day in early June when the chapel will be available for viewing, so that people can see the space, discuss potential and share ideas and give feedback.
