Arun District Council - Council Tax Reduction Scheme 2027/28 Consultation

Changes to the Arun Working Age Council Tax Reduction Scheme

Each year Arun District Council must decide whether to change the Council Tax Reduction scheme for working age applicants in its area.

There are no changes for pension age applicants as they are part of the national scheme set by central government.

We are legally required to consult on any proposed changes to the scheme, and we are asking you to take part in this consultation to find out what you think about our proposed change to the Council Tax Reduction Scheme, which would start from 1 April 2027.

We want to make sure that people who have moved from older (legacy) benefits to Universal Credit do not lose Council Tax Reduction because of the temporary protection they receive, by disregarding the Universal Credit Transitional Protection Element from the calculation of income

Thank you for taking the time to share your views. It should take around 5 to 10 minutes to fill in this consultation.

If you need this consultation in another format, such as large print or easy read, please contact us on revenues.benefits@arun.gov.uk
