1. Your input and voice is vital

Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) has been providing services, campaigns, events and projects set out and suggested by Gloucester businesses since 2017.

The feedback given in this survey will help to shape Gloucester BID's priorities for the next five-year business plan (2027-2032). If you are a Gloucester BID levy payer, please help shape this by completing our Consultation Survey below.

The current priorities are:

  • Safer City
  • Vibrant and Attractive City
  • Supported and Promoted City

All completed surveys will be put into a pot and one lucky business will win a £100 Gloucester Gift Card (physical or digital).

Safer City:

The City Protection Officers (CPOs), on duty seven-days a week. Responding and supporting businesses and the community. Reporting and working cohesively with the Constabulary, Councils and Services.

The Night Safe Officers (NSOs), on duty every Saturday and payday Friday. Responding and supporting businesses and the community.

Partnership with Gloucester City Safe - Delivering various campaigns such as Safer Business Action Week, Shop Kind Week and Smart Water City. Coordinating meetings with the Police and OPCC.

Purple Flag Accreditaion Partnership - Working as a stakeholder within the accreditation process alongside Gloucester City Council, Gloucestershire Police and Gloucester LVA.

Attractive and Vibrant City:

Summer Flowers and Planter Maintenance: the annual installation of the summer flowers and the general maintenance of the wooden planters and Cathedral Quarter's planters.

Monthly BiG Clean Up Session: Hosting and coordinating the monthly voluntary sessions to tidy up areas in the city (gardening, weeding, litter picking, painting).

Graffiti Removal: Part funded by Gloucester BID in partnership with landlords.

Live Music Events: Coordination, marketing and support of Gloucester Folk Trail, Gloucester Rhythm and Blues and Gloucester Shanty Festival.

Partnership Events: Funding towards Gloucester Goes Retro, Bright Nights, Lantern Procession and Light Switch On, Lions at Large Trail,

BID Events: Various picture trails (Bunny Hop Trail, Busy Buzzy Bee Trail, Gingerbread Trail, Pirate Window Bingo), Dino-ROAR Weekend, A Weekend by Water

BID Social Media, Website and Marketing: Promotions, campaigns, news, directory and events (over 14k followers and up to 500k reach).

BID Weekly E-newsletter: Latest News, Campaigns, Events, Member Promotions and Awareness (over 500 signed up to receive this).

BID Member Networking: Sharing ideas, concerns and gaining valuebale insights about Gloucester, include Retailers' Meeting, Hospitality Meeting and Connections Over Coffee.

BID Support and Guidance: Guiding and connecting BID members and businesses to relevant bodies. 

BID Voice: Being a voice for businesses to report issues, raise concerns and share ideas to Local Authorities, Constabulary and various bodies.

Gloucester Gift Card: A prepaid Mastercard platform that is a city centre wide gift card, accepted in over 180 Gloucester businesses.

Campaigns: Big Pub Push, Foodie Passport, Independents Week, Love Gloucester, Shine a Light on Local.

Printed Marketing: City Centre Maps and Summer and Winter What's On Guides.

Welcome to Gloucester Ambassadors: Volunteers coordinated by an Ambassdor Lead, who are a friendly face to promote, direct and welcome.

Believe in Gloucester Awards: Annual celebration of the city. Awards given to winners of various categories, including Business of the Year.
