You are invited to take part in a research study led by Disability Action.

Disability Action is a disabled people-led organisation working across Northern Ireland to promote disabled people’s rights, inclusion and independence. 

This study explores how learning to drive  may affect disabled people’s lives, and experiences of the Mobility Centre Driving School.

Voluntary participation

Taking part is entirely voluntary. Choosing not to take part or withdrawing at any time will not affect your access to Disability Action or any other services.

What the survey will ask about

The survey includes questions about:

We are doing a study about the Mobility Centre Driving School.

We want to find out:

·       How disabled people access learning to drive

·       How driving may help impact disabled people's lives

·  Barriers you may have experienced to learning to drive

 

You can take part if you:

· Are a disabled person aged 18 or over

· Have capacity to provide informed consent.

What participation involves

· Voluntary completion of an online survey that takes approximately 15 minutes.

· All questions are optional.

· You may skip any question.

· You may exit the survey at any time by closing your browser.

Confidentiality and data protection

· The survey does not ask for your name, address, date of birth.

· Your responses are anonymous.

· Data will be stored securely and accessed only by the research team.

· Findings will be reported only in aggregated or anonymised form.

· The study complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.  

· Some questions may prompt reflection on challenging experiences. If you would like support, Disability Action can provide information about relevant services.

What if I change my mind?

You can withdraw from the study at any time before data analysis begins. If you withdraw, your data will not be used where possible.

What will happen to the results?

The findings will be used to produce a research report, accessible summaries and policy briefings. Results will be shared with disabled people, policymakers and stakeholders to help improve transport and employment policy and practice. No individual participant will be identifiable.
