The Fire Standards Board welcome you to the consultation on proposed changes to the Emergency Preparedness and Resilience Fire Standard which has recently undergone a review.
The Emergency Preparedness and Resilience Fire Standard was published in May 2022. The Fire Standard supports fire and rescue services to build and maintain resilience, ensuring they can sustain effective response levels during emergencies and disruptive incidents. It also emphasises strong collaboration with partner agencies, other services and neighbouring organisations to enable coordinated, cross-border and national preparedness, response and recovery.
Since the publication of this Fire Standard, the Fire Standards Board has developed a total of nineteen Fire Standards. The review of this standard was completed by a group of practitioners from across Fire and Rescue Services within England, and supported by John Roberts, Chief Fire Officer and NFCC Operational Preparedness, Response and Resilience Committee Chair, and Kerry Blair, Head of NFCC Operational Response and Fire Control Hub. This consultation asks you to review and comment on the proposed changes to the Fire Standard.
