1. Winchcombe Creative Carers information and criteria

This form is intended for people who would like to join us to shape a new pilot project to benefit unpaid carers.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE CARERS PILOT PROJECT

This is a non-clinical group course at Isbourne Arts in High Street, Winchcombe. The sessions are free, and materials will be provided. No artistic skills or talent are necessary.

This is a partnership project, led by Artlift, with support from Isbourne Arts, Cheltenham Peripheral Primary Care Network, and Gloucestershire Carers Hub.

What you will experience as a Creative Carers participant:

  • A chance to get creative and meet others who have shared experience as a carer over 7 x 2-hour sessions.
  • Creative Check-ins (one-to-one conversations) with your specially trained Artist Facilitator, Emma, who lives local to Winchcombe and also has experience as an unpaid carer.
  • Move On plans, so that you can continue to use arts as a tool to support ongoing wellbeing.
  • Through your input and feedback, an opportunity to impact more broadly and benefit others who care for a friend, relative or neighbour.

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION

Our Creative Carers pilot project is for adults who are:

  • Over 18 and registered with a GP in Gloucestershire and/or living in a GL postcode
  • Impacted by their experience as an unpaid carer
  • Comfortable in a group setting
  • Able to follow simple instructions or demonstrations
  • Committed to attending as many of the sessions as possible

If there’s anything you are unsure about, please don’t hesitate to contact us to talk this through before completing the referral form.

If you are worried about barriers to engagement, please do get in touch. E.g. we have a small budget through which we may be able to support with transport costs, and we may also be able to provide arts activities for the person you care for, enabling you to take a break in a separate space.
