We want you to help us find the most important questions for researchers, funders and scientists who are working in the field of thyroid disease, to focus on.
This survey is for people who live, or have lived, with a thyroid condition, their family, carers and the healthcare professionals who look after them.
If you are supporting someone with thyroid disease to complete the survey, you can also complete the survey again on your own behalf by using a different browser or device.
This survey will be open for approximately eight weeks. We anticipate that it will close on 6 July 2026 but we may change the closing date, depending on how many responses we receive.
Every opinion matters and every response counts equally.
The survey will take about five to thirty minutes to complete, depending on how much you want to contribute.
Who can take part in this survey?
You can take part in this survey if you are aged 16+ years, based in the UK and one or more of the following apply to you:
- You have been diagnosed with a thyroid condition by a healthcare professional at any time
- You are a parent, carer or family member of anyone diagnosed with a thyroid condition by a healthcare professional at any time
- You are a healthcare professional who looks after people with thyroid conditions
What isn’t included in this survey?
- Active treatments for thyroid cancer (Including this would require specialist expertise and resources that unfortunately this project does not have. Our steering group also recognises that thyroid cancer is an area of substantial ongoing research, so this project is focused on areas where there is greater uncertainty. Long term health effects, including those experienced by thyroid cancer survivors are included)
- Parathyroid conditions
- Health services outside the UK
This survey has two sections
Section 1 - Once we have checked your eligibility to participate, you can submit the questions you would like answered by research.
Section 2 – We will ask for information about you. These questions will help us to understand the range of people responding to the survey and to reach as many different people as possible.
