1. Nourish and Connect Introduction

Introduction:  Thanks for your interest in the Nourish and Connect Mid Ulster training. Nourish & Connect is a community-based programme designed to help people across Mid Ulster build healthier lifestyles, learn practical food skills, and connect with others in a supportive environment. This programme is provided free of charge thanks to funded by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body, and delivered by Network Personnel on behalf of Mid Ulster District Council over a three-year period

Programme Outline: This is an 8 sessions programme where you will take part in a range of interactive workshops and activities, including:

  • Healthy Eating and cooking meals on a budget
  • Budgeting & Smart food shopping 
  • Understanding food labels
  • Nutrition & Health 
  • Growing your own food
  • Health & wellbeing activities / Light exercise 

Programme Benefits: By joining, you will:

  • Make steps to improve your overall health and wellbeing
  • Gain confidence in basic cooking skills and understanding of nutrition
  • Learn practical, everyday food skills
  • Meet new people and build friendships by taking part in positive, shared community experience

Programme Details:

  • Duration: 8 sessions / weeks x 2hrs = 16 hours. (Alterative programme delivery format will be avaliable)
  • Group size: Up to 16 participants per group
  • Age profile of Participants: 16 plus years 
  • Location: Various venues across Mid Ulster 
  • Cost: Free (funded programme)

Magherafelt :  This programme will run over a fortnight

  • Dates: Tuesday 4th August – Thursday 13th August 2026
  • Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
  • Time: 10.00am – 1.00pm
  • Venue: Network Personnel Men's Shed, The Business Centre, 80–82 Rainey Street, Magherafelt, BT45 5AJ

Augher: This programme will run twice monthly over four months

  • Programme Dates: Thursday 20 August, Thursday 3 September, Thursday 17 September, Thursday 1 October, Thursday 15 October, Thursday 29 October, Thursday 12 November, Thursday 26 November
  • Time: 11.00am – 1.00pm
  • Venue: Tullymeadow Men's Shed & Community Garden / Augher GFC Hub, Annaghilla Road, Augher, Co. Tyrone, BT77 0BP

  • By completing this registration form, you are expressing your interest in taking part in the programme.  Only apply if you can commit to attending the required 16 hrs duration, to ensure value for money / meet funders requirements.
