Redditch Borough Council has adopted a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, which can be viewed online here.
This policy sets out the maximum age after which the Council will not normally renew a licence for a hackney carriage (taxi) or private hire vehicle.
The Council is currently reviewing these licence renewal age limits and proposing to increase the current licence renewal age limits, across all vehicle categories as set out in the policy, by one year.
This consultation survey has been created to allow relevant stakeholders, licence holders, and the wider public to express their views on the changes being proposed.
The consultation survey will remain open for responses until 9am on Monday, 15 June 2026. The responses received will be considered by the Council's Licensing Committee before any decisions are taken regarding changing the Council's policy.
