Pontypool Indoor Market has been identified by Torfaen County Borough Council as a key part of Pontypool’s town centre community and a place for independent traders to trade and prosper. The Council has invested in the market over the years, but as in other UK town centres, there are some challenges it needs to tackle.
The opportunity is that there is a real affection for the market, which is founded on its traders, the food & the heritage of the building. The Council is exploring ways to broaden its appeal, and support independent traders to trade & prosper.
This survey is seeking view from organisations and businesses that do not currently operate or trade in the market. For local community groups and organisations, we’d like to understand the need for space where people can meet, learn and do things together. For businesses we’d like to hear about recent start-ups, established businesses and social enterprises. We have an interest in hearing from people that are makers, crafters, creatives and producers but also happy to hear from people that may benefit from other activity space in the indoor market.
We really want to understand what would attract you to trade or use the market space and how we can support you in making this happen.
