Welcome to the questionnaire.
You’ve been invited to take part in the Smarter Network Upgrades (SNUG) trial, running alongside the energy efficiency improvements planned for your home. By participating, you will receive £75 and the chance to win £1,000 in each of three prize draws.
This short questionnaire asks for:
- Your consent to take part in SNUG.
- Demographic data (including special category data, e.g. gender and ethnicity) to ensure we involve a diverse range of people in the trial’s research activities. You don’t need to give us this information if you would prefer not to.
- Information about yourself, your home and your energy use so we can understand different households’ habits and experiences of the trial.
- Your contact information and your preferences on how you’d like to be contacted so we can arrange monitor installation and keep you informed about the trial.
- Any additional support so we can accommodate your needs.
This data will be used by the team at the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE). Pseudo-anonymised copies* of relevant questions will be shared with the team at PNDC, an innovation centre at the University of Strathclyde, for analysis. More detail can be found in the privacy notice linked below. Your contact information will be shared with the installers of the monitoring devices so they can contact you to arrange a date for their visit.
Taking part is completely voluntary. If you decide not to take part, this will not affect your retrofit measures, your tenancy, or any services you receive. You can withdraw your consent to participate at any time.
Before you continue, please ensure you’ve read the SNUG information booklet and privacy notice – which you should already have access to. These explain what SNUG is, what will happen in your home, what data is collected, and how it will be used. They will also provide the team’s contact details you should use if you need to get in touch.
This questionnaire should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
*Only your address will be shared with PNDC so they can map information about your house to occupant characteristics, supporting modelling of energy demand.
