What is this questionnaire?
This questionnaire is for anyone who lives, works, or studies in Wirral. It is part of a listening exercise that aims to understand how people experience life in the borough today, including people’s sense of belonging, relationships between different communities, and the issues that can bring people together or contribute to tensions and division.
We want to hear from many hundreds of people across Wirral about their experiences, concerns and priorities. What we hear will help inform the priorities and future work of Wirral’s Community Cohesion Programme.
Who is involved?
The listening exercise has been commissioned by Wirral Council’s Community Safety Service as part of its three-year Community Cohesion Programme. The listening exercise is being delivered independently by Protection Approaches, a UK charity specialising in cohesion and community resilience. Protection Approaches will bring together and analyse what we hear from people and communities across the borough to help ensure the programme is informed by local experiences and priorities.
What’s the questionnaire like?
The questionnaire is simple and flexible, and you can share as much or as little as you like. Depending on how detailed your answers are, it can take as little as 5 minutes to complete. You will be asked to share your thoughts on three main questions:
- What do you like about Wirral?
- What concerns you about life in Wirral?
- What kind of future do you want for Wirral?
The deadline to submit the completed questionnaire is 11.59pm on Sunday 11th October 2026
What happens to what you tell us?
The questionnaire is anonymous. We will ask for some demographic information, such as where you live, your gender, age, and ethnicity, but your responses will not be identifiable. Your responses may be shared with Wirral Council.
A report summarising the findings from this questionnaire, along with wider conversations taking place across the borough, will be produced for Wirral Council and insights will directly inform the Community Cohesion Programme.

Your voice matters. By taking part, you’ll help us better understand the experiences, concerns and priorities of people across Wirral. What you tell us will help inform the Community Cohesion Programme and the work it delivers to strengthen communities and make Wirral a place where everyone feels welcome, heard and able to thrive.
