This questionnaire is for peripatetic teachers of music, which, for the purposes of this research, are defined as teachers who are principally engaged in the delivery of one-to-one tuition on an instrument or voice. If you do not fall into this category, please do not complete the questionnaire.
Participation in the research is entirely voluntary. It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. You will be asked to confirm your consent when you click to submit your answers at the end of this online questionnaire.
The study is a research project for a Masters-level dissertation examining the relationship between peripatetic teachers and the schools at which they work, in order to put career history and commitment to a particular institution in the context of wider trends.
This online questionnaire will collect answers to a number of questions on job satisfaction, commitment to the school, location, type and age range of the school, and your employment status and experience in the sector. The principles of the Data Protection Act 2018 will be adhered to throughout the study. All data is treated anonymously from the point of submission, and any findings will be reported anonymously. Your consent will be asked to process the data asked for in the research project, so that we can conduct the research. The anonymized data will be held securely with SmartSurvey, a UK-based company, and on a password-protected hard-drive. Your data will not be stored outside the EU, and all data will be destroyed after the dissertation has been passed by the examiners (envisaged to be during October 2019).
