This research is looking at the mediatisation of politics. Particularly at how politicians utilise social media in order to further their political careers. The aim of the study is to discover what the public’s opinion is of this; whether it is positive or negative. As I am currently living in Finland for four months the research is going to compare Finland and Britain. The questionnaire will ask the participants there views on whether they think it is a positive or negative thing that the gap between politicians and celebrities is closing. Also whether they have seen any differences between countries of how politicians act and are perceived by the public. The questionnaire will be online making it easy and quick to fill out; it also means that access to it is easy as there is no posting back and forth involved.
The role of the participant is to answer the online questionnaire; which consists of questions about their opinions of the mediatisation of politics. The questionnaire does not take any personal data and is anonymous therefore the views and answers that you write will not be shared with anyone therefore all data is confidential. The participant has the right to withdraw from the study at any time. All data collected in the research will be protected by offering anonymity, privacy and confidentiality. Therefore any views that participants use in the questionnaire will be written up in the research (if applicable) anonymously.
By taking part in the survey I agree that I am over the age of 18.
