Each year the Wandsworth Safeguarding Children Board asks practitioners working for all agencies at the front line with children and families questions on their safeguarding practice. It is very important that as many people as possible do the survey - it should take no more than 15-20 minutes to finish.
The deadline for completion is 28 July 2017
If you prefer to complete the survey on paper, or have any queries or questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations and individuals to ensure their functions, and any services that they contract out to others, are discharged having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Section 175/157 of the Education Act 2002 requires the same of schools and education settings. These duties are set out in eight standards, and the questions are structured around them.
This survey is to be completed by as many staff as possible in the organisation, agency, school or setting who do not have a designated safeguarding responsibility. This will include receptionists, premises officials, volunteers, contracted staff, school governors, teachers, social workers, mental health workers, stakeholders, trainees, as well as any other direct employee of the organisation/ school/ setting, etc.
The analysis of the completed questionnaires will help safeguarding leads to understand the strengths of and gaps in practitioners' knowledge.
