Thank you for your interest in this study
We are conducting research in collaboration with the University of Cardiff looking into dentists' mental well-being. In particular we are interested in examining the working conditions that can lead to stress and burnout in dentists and the impact this has on general well-being, health and patient care. We want to understand how prevalent stress and burnout currently are in the profession and we are inviting all dentists to take part in the survey, whether or not you are a BDA member. This survey follows up qualitative research into burnout and mental ill-health among dentists, the report of which can be found here www.bda.org/burnout
The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. All information provided will be treated confidentially, and the survey will be taken anonymously, your name will not be asked, and we will not be able to identify you from the information given. As a way of saying thank you, you will be able to enter a prize draw for a £100 Marks and Spencer gift card by entering an email address (this will not be linked to your data)
Only the research team (at the BDA and Cardiff University) will have access to the data. The data may be published in reports and journals, but will be aggregated for analysis and no identifying information will be included.
Due to the nature of the topic, some of the questions asked are sensitive and as a result you may experience negative feelings and emotions. If you feel yourself becoming distressed, please stop taking the survey and look at the sources of support listed.
