Candidate A

Candidate A is a PTFA chair who has single-handedly relaunched and reimagined a parent support group, transforming the impact that 50 families can have on the education and wellbeing of pupils at a specialist primary school for autistic children. After stepping into a governor role, they took on the challenge of reviving a PTFA that had been inactive since 2015, immediately launching a personal fundraising campaign that raised over £1,000 and sparked widespread parental engagement. Their energy, positivity, and ability to inspire others have led to a wave of community-led initiatives - from mountain climbs and marathons to bike rides and sponsorship events - raising over £10,000 in under a year. Despite the added challenge that many traditional fundraising methods aren’t accessible for autistic children and their families, they’ve built an inclusive, empowering environment where everyone can contribute. Their tireless efforts have strengthened community ties, supported staff and created a more unified, collaborative school culture. All of this has been achieved while managing the complex needs of Candidate A’s own children, supporting other SEND families and advocating for SEND reform. Their leadership has not only revived a dormant organisation, but has become a beacon of hope, inclusion and determination. This nomination is a heartfelt recognition of their extraordinary commitment, compassion and the lasting legacy they continue to build.

Candidate B

Candidate B is an invaluable volunteer whose energy, creativity and dedication have enriched every event they’ve supported. From DJing at bingo nights and talent shows to bringing fun and flair to both summer and winter fairs, their enthusiasm has helped create joyful, memorable experiences for the entire school community. Their leadership on a standout project - the renovation of a disused black taxi into a peaceful reading space - truly showcases their commitment. Since July 2024, they’ve worked closely with a local college team, investing time and creativity to transform the cab into a vibrant addition to the school’s outdoor library area. Set to be unveiled at the Summer Fair in June 2025, this project will provide children with a unique and engaging space to enjoy books and will join the bus library on the school field. Their passion and dedication have made a lasting impact, and their efforts deserve heartfelt recognition.

Candidate C

Candidate C has been nominated in recognition of 25 years of dedicated service. A constant and unwavering presence since the PTA’s inception, they have supported generations of families, staff and students with unmatched generosity, humour and commitment. From their earliest days as a newly qualified teacher, they embraced every aspect of school life with passion and integrity, but it is their contribution to the PTA that truly stands out. Whether chairing meetings, manning stalls, sourcing raffle prizes or rallying volunteers with warmth and wit, they consistently go above and beyond - not for recognition, but out of genuine care. Their encyclopaedic knowledge of the school and its community has guided new PTA members and staff, and Candidate C’s ability to make everyone feel welcome has helped bridge the gap between parents and staff. Their calm, reassuring presence at events, from summer showcases to open evenings, has become a staple of school life, with their cheerful voice echoing through the corridors. What makes this nomination especially meaningful is not just the length of their service, but the heart they’ve poured into every moment. Whether raising funds for equipment or offering a kind word to a struggling parent, their impact reaches far beyond the meeting room. As they mark a quarter-century of service, we reflect on the legacy they’ve built - not just in the funds raised or events delivered, but in the spirit of community they’ve nurtured. They embody everything a PTA volunteer should be; dedicated, compassionate and driven by a desire to help others. This award would honour not only their extraordinary service, but the values and example that continue to inspire us all.

Candidate D

Their standout achievement was the creation and co-leadership of a new community event, which raised over £14,000, attracted 500+ participants and funded the construction of a wellbeing cabin now used daily by students. They managed logistics, inspired volunteers, secured sponsorships and maintained positivity throughout.

Beyond events, they mentored the incoming Chair, ensuring a smooth leadership transition and fostering a culture of inclusiveness and teamwork. Their impact is reflected not only in tangible outcomes, but also in the confidence and enthusiasm they instilled in others. Staff, parents and volunteers alike recognise them as a cheerful, organised and quietly powerful presence.
Their legacy is one of creativity, generosity and lasting community spirt.

Candidate G

Candidate G has been a dedicated member of their Parent Council for six years, consistently going above and beyond to support the school, its staff, families and the pupils it serves. They devote significant personal time to ensure the council runs smoothly and effectively, always prioritising the needs of the children.

In 2024, they led a major community-wide initiative - the School Christmas Fair - which brought together local traders, businesses, families and volunteers to create a joyful and inclusive event. Their leadership and planning resulted in a festive celebration praised for its warm atmosphere and organisation, raising over £5,600 for the school. Highlights included a beautifully decorated Santa’s Grotto and strong community engagement.

As Treasurer, they’ve been central to all fundraising efforts, and their tireless commitment often comes at the expense of their own time and wellbeing. They are known for being the first to volunteer, always giving 100% and inspiring others through their dedication and heart.

Candidate G’s impact is felt across the school and wider community, making them a standout candidate for Volunteer of the Year.

Candidate H

Candidate H has shown exceptional dedication and impact on their school community. With tireless energy and a deep commitment to the children, Candidate H leads a wide range of fundraising and community events - from joyful Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls to buzzing school discos, and a standout Taylor Swift tribute night that united families and raised vital funds. Their creativity, generosity and hands-on leadership - often sponsoring events through their own business - ensure that every initiative is both meaningful and beneficial. Working in close partnership with the PTA Secretary, they exemplify teamwork, professionalism, and warmth, making every event inclusive and memorable. Candidate H never seeks the spotlight, but their efforts are the heartbeat of the school’s fundraising success, and the PTA wholeheartedly believe they deserve this recognition.

Candidate I

Candidate I has made a remarkable difference to their school, their parent community and their PTFA team. Since becoming the school contact in late 2023, they’ve brought boundless enthusiasm, a collaborative spirit and a genuine desire to improve school life for children and families. As a well-respected teacher, they’ve also proven to be an invaluable asset to a small, relatively new committee - bringing organisation, clear communication and a gift for building bridges between staff and volunteers. Their ability to answer questions, promote the PTFA’s mission and help both sides understand each other’s needs has transformed the relationship between school and committee from distant to united. Thanks to Candidate I’s support, events now run more smoothly, fundraising has flourished, and staff engagement has reached new heights. They volunteer at every single event, not just showing up but infusing each one with joy - whether by running discos in full DJ costume (complete with gold hat and face-painted beard!) or stepping into the stocks year after year. Their commitment goes far beyond the school day, attending evening meetings and inspiring others to get involved. Where volunteer numbers once lagged, their influence has led to record staff participation and a more welcoming, cooperative atmosphere. Their kind nature, infectious energy and unwavering dedication make them a truly deserving candidate for this award.

Candidate J

Candidate J has been a cornerstone of their school’s Parent, Friends and Teachers Association, serving as a committee member, Treasurer, and now Chairperson. Their dedication, energy and unwavering commitment have made a lasting impact on the school community. Initially joining to connect with other parents and support their child’s education, they quickly became a driving force - volunteering time, ideas and effort with no task too big or small. As Treasurer, they were meticulous and trustworthy, and as Chairperson, they brought fresh vision and vitality. Over the past three years, they’ve helped raise over £5,600, directly enriching students’ experiences through extracurricular activities, classroom resources and inclusive events - from welcome lunches to celebratory treats. Beyond the numbers, Candidate J’s true impact lies in the empathy and inclusiveness they bring to every interaction, ensuring all voices are heard and valued. Their personal experience as a parent of children with additional needs has made them a quiet advocate for accessibility and understanding. Always the first to arrive and last to leave, they consistently step forward when others step back - coordinating raffles, managing budgets, serving tea and offering kindness to new parents. Their leadership has strengthened the PTA, lifted spirits and fostered a more connected and compassionate school environment. This nomination honours not just what they’ve achieved, but the heart and integrity with which they’ve done it.

Candidate K

Candidate K has been a dedicated member of their school’s PTA for an incredible 13 years, consistently serving as Chair and acting as the driving force behind countless initiatives. Their unwavering commitment - even through personal health challenges - has ensured every child enjoys a rich and memorable school experience. With a deep focus on inclusivity and affordability, they’ve made sure no child misses out on events due to financial constraints, often suggesting voluntary donations and spreading out activities to ease pressure on families. Their thoughtful leadership has fostered a warm, welcoming community, strengthened relationships with staff and supported key projects like a new library. When staffing shortages threatened school discos, they introduced a vibrant Culture Day Celebration, bringing families together through shared food and pride in diverse backgrounds. Their creativity and passion have led to new events such as All Saints Day, football shoot-outs and reading challenges, while continuing beloved traditions like cake sales and Easter Bingo. Under Candidate K’s guidance, volunteer participation has soared - they introduced Class Reps, launched a WhatsApp group for updates and helped mobilise families for the local Gala Parade, creating unforgettable experiences for children. Their commitment to accessibility is evident in events like the Summer Faire, held with free entry to ensure all families can attend. Through tireless fundraising, inclusive planning and a compassionate approach, this nominee has made a lasting impact on their school community and is truly deserving of recognition.

Candidate L

Candidate L has served as PTFA treasurer for several years, and without their dedication, the organisation would likely have folded. Throughout 2023 to 2024, they’ve gone above and beyond - balancing a demanding job and three young children - while still fostering relationships with new parents to boost volunteer numbers. Under their financial leadership, the PTFA raised an impressive £25,000 to build a much-needed intervention space in the school’s playgrounds. At this inner-city Victorian primary school, where expansion options are limited, the new classroom now provides a safe and supportive environment for targeted learning and wellbeing. Always the first to volunteer and consistently taking every challenge in their stride, Candidate L is a vital contributor, not only to the PTFA, but also as a school governor. Their commitment doesn’t stop there - they’re currently undertaking a 26.6-mile Stand Up Paddleboard Marathon to raise additional funds, exemplifying their tireless energy and passion for supporting the school community.
