Introduction to motivational interviewing (2 days) - Motivational Interviewing is a counselling approach which helps to elicit behaviour change by exploring and resolving ambivalence in clients
Engagement skills for working with people who use drugs and alcohol (1 day) - Developing skills to foster engagement with service users
Understanding and responding to Stigma (1day) - Develop knowledge and skills to help understand drug related stigma.
Introduction to Trauma informed practice with People Who Use Substances (1 day) - An introduction to the relationship between trauma and substance use. Describe trauma informed practice & enable practitioners to respond to disclosures of trauma.
Staying alive; Reducing drugs related deaths (1 day) - Understanding causes of issues contributing to drug related deaths and measures for preventing them
Listening and responding to children affected by parental substance use (1 day) - Identifying impact of substance use on children, discuss key issues in assessment of children's needs and risks to children.
Recovery Orientated Systems of Care (1 day) - This course will help staff understand Recovery Orientated practice and how they can contribute to their local systems of services, supporting ROSC development work.
