1. You are being invited to complete an online survey as part of a Master’s course being undertaken by Millie Cumper, a Folklore Studies student at School of Creative Arts, University of Hertfordshire, UK.
Please read the following information carefully before deciding whether to take part. Please ask if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information.
You are eligible to take part in this study if you are aged 18 years old or over.
The StudyThe purpose of the study is to complete a dissertation on the Wookey Hole witch and the way in which her histories have been shaped by stories.
What does taking part involve? If you agree to take part in this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey/questionnaire. This survey/questionnaire will ask about your experience of visiting the Wookey Hole Caves and thoughts in the Wookey Hole witch and it will take you approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Do I have to take part? No. It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. You are free to withdraw from the study at any time and without giving a reason. If you choose not to take part, you do not need to do anything further.
Are there any benefits or risks for me if I take part? You may not directly benefit from this research; however, we hope that your participation in the study may offer insight into the folklore of the Wookey Hole. There are no expected risks for participants. Any data that you provide will be treated as confidential and the questionnaire is anonymous.
All data from the study will be stored securely on my university One Drive cloud storage system which only I have access to and will be deleted on the 04/08/2025.
What will happen to the findings of this study? The findings will be used to produce data to answer my research questions.
